Lazy Summer Days....

Now that the warmer days are here, so is the local Farmer's Market which has tonnes of fun stuff for the little ones as well as the big kids! It's so nice to spend your Saturday mornings puttering around the market, eating goodies, buying flowers and of COURSE getting your face painted (I'll give it a try next time)! Nevaeh and I met up with a girlfriend and her family and ended up spending 4 hours soaking up the sun....what a great way to pass the time! Here are a few from the day....

Beautiful Baby Isla

Introducing my very favourite "May 27th" baby....Little Miss Isla. I officially love her! Her Mum is my good friend, and talented "ex" business partner Brooke of Indigo Six Photography. I feel so, so lucky to have gotten my hands on such a little doll so early...these were all taken in-hospital (note Mama's outfit)! Stay tuned as we're having a full-on newborn shoot in the coming days.

2 Peas

These two cuties are actually cousins, and are the children of my two (favourite) cousins! Nevaeh and I made a trip to the Island last weekend and managed to meet up with the girls. We literally had 10 minutes to shoot before the sun was down and Nevaeh was screaming in the background; but we managed to get a few great shots; you just never know, do you?!

New Friends

Well, these kiddos couldn't have looked more different if they'd tried, but they still had a tonne in common......soaking up the sun, splashing in the ocean and digging in the sand. I just adore the contrast of their skintones, their hair, even their size (they're all about the same age). I took these after a shoot Nevaeh was a part of for one of my fave children's stores in Victoria called "Scallywags"... the little boy Noah and gorgeous Olivia were the other "models". I wish it were this easy to make friends as adults.....I don't think I'd be strippin down in the first hour after meetin new friends!!! Anyways, make sure to check out Scallywags if you're in town for a visit...they're right downtown on Fort st. and have truly beautiful stuff.....

Island Babe

This little stunner is a girl we met while doing a shoot for a store in Victoria last week.....Nevaeh, a little guy and this beauty all won a contest to be the faces for the stores' advertisements and promotions. I wasn't the hired photographer, but shot a few images afterwards while the girls were playing......I'll post a link to the photography site once the "official" pics are up.

If I'm lucky I'll be able to do a one on one shoot with this little beauty sometime later in the year....what a doll!

Aunty "T"

These are some shots I took of my sister while on the Island last week. Because it's family, and because I've never taken photos of her I really wanted them to be great. I must say I'm a bit dissapointed as I know I could have worked the lighting better than I did. It's a darn good thing she looks spectacular (can you believe she's 39 weeks here) and makes every shot look great! I'm so glad I got the chance to do these and can't wait for the new bundle!!

Talking about getting lucky.....this was my first actual engagement shoot, and look at the two I got stuck photographing! These two were so easy to work with, were obviously smitten with each other, and WORKED IT in front of my lens....I couldn't have asked for much more!

I'm so excited to be documenting their wedding day next month, so stay tuned for more!
