These are some shots I took of my sister while on the Island last week. Because it's family, and because I've never taken photos of her I really wanted them to be great. I must say I'm a bit dissapointed as I know I could have worked the lighting better than I did. It's a darn good thing she looks spectacular (can you believe she's 39 weeks here) and makes every shot look great! I'm so glad I got the chance to do these and can't wait for the new bundle!!

Talking about getting lucky.....this was my first actual engagement shoot, and look at the two I got stuck photographing! These two were so easy to work with, were obviously smitten with each other, and WORKED IT in front of my lens....I couldn't have asked for much more!

I'm so excited to be documenting their wedding day next month, so stay tuned for more!

Lovin' the Old Skool...

As you can see, I am going through an obvious "vintage" stage....hopefully I won't look back a year from now and think I was nuts, but for now I am loving the old school feel. Here are a few of the Miss from yesterday at Summerland Sweets...

Here are a few shots we rocked last night....this is my girlfriend Brooke's VERY beautiful belly session. We shot at dusk and the lighting was warm and beautiful. B must have had a dozen outfits and pairs of shoes, but we were having so much fun we forgot about changing anything! Thank you so much to Brooke for allowing me to get these fab shots...I canNOT wait for the little one to get here!!!

Beauty Full

I had such a great day today....went shopping with the Miss and she was a DOLL, checked out the new paint job on our very first home we bought and LOVE it, and had two fantastic shoots with two gorgeous models....my little one (the guinea pig) and Brooke's Belly. I've been trying my darndest to figure out backlighting, and I think I may have got it!! At least for today's session. There will be many more of this series to come, but for now here are a few of my faves (including a new head shot Brooke took of me that I'm quite liking....I think this may have to be my "year I turned 30" pic...THANKS Brooke)!

PS I just realized the second cherry blossom pic looks pixelated, but I actually added a texture onto it, which isn't looking as great as it did on PS; it'll have to be a re-do!

Flower Girls

You may recognize these two gorgeous faces as they are on my blog header at the top of the page....I'll never tire of photographing these sisters....they are full of beauty AND charm! We had a sunset picnic in an orchard tonight....the girls had a blast running, dancing and eating; regardless of how many photos I managed to get!

The Blossoms have Arrived!!!

So after all the snow, hail and late-April snowstorms, spring has finally arrived. I always thought winter felt long, but it definately feels longer when you have a 2 year old wanting to run outside, and new camera equipment calling your name! The blossoms aren't quite out at our orchard just yet, so we took a drive and found one that suited us both just fine....the Miss had heaps of dandelions to pick, and I had a gorgeous setting and happy little girl that just wanted to play. We're going to re-shoot this since it was high-noon, very tricky lighting....so be on the lookout in the next week for some (hopefully amazing) new "sunset" shots of Nevaeh, her girlfriends and a few beautiful white dresses. For anyone who's up for some blossom shots, they're only around for a short time, so please contact me if you'd like a session:)
